The experience was much better than expected and we can’t wait to do it again We completed the Challenge course with our guide, Mateo. The experience was much better than expected and we can’t wait to do it again. Mateo was fun, knowledgeable, and took the time to tell us the history of Columbus as we floated the river. He was a true expert and made us feel very safe. We got through the class 5 rapids without flipping! There were 7 in our raft that included our family and friends from age 19-55. It was an awesome day and I would recommend taking the trip with Mateo anytime!Anonymous
We had THE BEST time doing the challenge course!!! My boyfriend and I had been wanting to go whitewater rafting, and Columbus was a convenient location for us. We had THE BEST time doing the challenge course!!! We both had only been rafting a few times before, probably 8+ years ago, but felt completely comfortable doing this option. Our guide was so great!! He kept us laughing with jokes while explaining the history of the surrounding area and preparing us for the class 5 rapid. If you’re even considering going whitewater rafting, GO! I know we will be back in the future.Anonymous

We accommodate 4-7 guests per boat but have a limited number of larger boats that hold up to 9 guests.
Going for a short swim is always a possibility of a whitewater trip. You’ll be wearing a Type V USCG-approved personal flotation device and we’ll brief everyone on what to expect and how to behave in the event that someone does fall out.
The river is low-risk. With over 40 years of experience, Whitewater Express’ risk management procedures are unsurpassed. We train our guides extensively and follow the most up-to-date industry standards. However, it is important that you and your group know this: Whitewater rafting, like all adventure activities, involves inherent risks. It is important that guests know their comfort level and take proper responsibility for their own safety. If Whitewater Express staff feel that any individual is not in the proper condition to raft, we reserve the right to not allow that individual to raft for his or her own safety.
You will get very wet as you will be going through big slashes and waves as you enjoy our great rapids. You also have the choice to float out of the boat the lazy river “habitat float” a narrow mild section of our river that flows through a Blue Heron rookery.
Surfing in a raft is one of the most fun things on our river. Surfing happens when the raft rides in a wave without flipping. This involves skillful maneuvers from your guide. Since surfing happens in instances when the raft is balanced on top of rapidly circulating water, the chances of having an out of the boat experience is increased.
